Strengthening access to justice and constitutional rights for non-nationals in South Africa |
The Constitution of South Africa provides for the rights of migrants - including the basic right to protection of life and dignity as well as the right to equal access to justice - yet there are many challenges in realising the legislated rights. The ACMS, in collaboration with Oxfam GB, the Consortium for Refugees and Migrants in South Africa (CoRMSA), and the Humanitarian Assistance Network South Africa (HANSA), is therefore conducting research on three aspects of violence against foreign nationals: violence early warning, the effectiveness of social cohesion interventions, and access to justice for victims of violence.
